At the southern end of Lake Ave in downtown Pasadena, south of California Blvd, is Oak Knoll. This is one of the older and more classic areas of southern Pasadena, known for its native oak trees. In the 19th century it was an estate region and many of these classic homes remain. One of the primary landmarks in this area is the old Huntington Hotel, built in 1906, most recently The Ritz-Carlton, and now having changed owners it is now called the Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa. Pasadena residents find peace and rest away from the busyness of life while at the spa.
